Objective
The primary goal was to create a culturally respectful and visually engaging digital platform for the Raukawa District Maori Council. The website needed to celebrate their heritage, provide accessible information about council services, and serve as a hub for community engagement while honouring Maori cultural values and traditions.
Approach
Our approach combined strategic design thinking with deep cultural sensitivity. Starting with branding and product design in Figma, we developed a warm, culturally rich interface that honours Maori heritage while maintaining modern usability. Using WordPress as the CMS and GSAP for animations, we ensured smooth interactions and a seamless user experience across devices. The final product reflects the council's commitment to community, culture, and progress.
The new website successfully positioned the Raukawa District Maori Council as a modern yet culturally grounded organisation. The thoughtful design and accessible content structure helped improve community engagement, making it easier for whanau and stakeholders to connect with council services and stay informed about important initiatives.
